A Pennsylvania museum is hoping to boost the number of women in science, technology, engineering, and math fields with the help of a $27,500 grant.
The PPL Foundation has awarded a grant to the Bloomsburg Children's Museum to create a program called "Student to volunteer to employee to leader to advocate: Fostering a generation of female mentors in STEM," the Times Leader reports.
"Developing an environment of stewardship is something we take seriously, particularly when it comes to underrepresented voices such as women in STEM," museum directorinny Weibel says in a press release.
"We want them to see and hear from Women STEM Leaders in our area who are examples and role models of what they can achieve," the director of the Foundation of the Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce says.
The museum plans to use the grant to host a teen leadership conference for high school students.
