Kathy Hochul writes in an op-ed in the New York Daily News after Gov.
Andrew Cuomo's State of the State address Tuesday.
"The lack of content speaks volumes."
In Hochul's view, the Cuomo administration's 277-page "Blueprint" doesn't "address the operational and practical challenges that often undermine ultimate success" in areas such as workforce and child welfare.
"The workforce that showed up in-person every day during the darkest moments of the pandemic to provide 24 ? /7 ? /365 care and protection to children is every bit as valuable and important to public health as other workers lauded for their bravery and heroism," Hochul writes.
"Yet this entire sector continues to be separated from other human services like mental health and healthcare when it comes time for adequate funding and respect."
In her op-ed, Hochul also points out that Cuomo's plan to spend $1 billion on mental health services is "an important step for all New Yorkers," but "who fulfills the mental health promise
