Kansas City's Children's Mercy Park, home of the Kansas City Wizards soccer team, will soon be packaging its food and beverages in a way that's both eco-friendly and "visually appealing," the Kansas City Star reports.
A five-year partnership between Sporting Kansas City and Huhtamaki, a global packaging company, will see the stadium's food and beverage packaging made out of Huhtamaki's compostable and recyclable products.
The goal is to reduce the stadium's environmental footprint.
"The new packaging features a sleek design that is visually appealing and personalized for guests' enjoyment," Sporting Kansas City VP of Hospitality Marc Mulherin says in a press release.
