"We were blown away."

That was the reaction of Sam Griffin, a judge at the 2023 East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire Business Awards, who gave the "Best Use of Innovation or Technology" award to ParentShield, a UK company that provides parents with the tools they need to keep their kids safe on their smartphones and other mobile devices, per a press release.

ParentShield works with any unlocked feature-phone, smartphone, or smartwatch and does not require any app or parental controls to be set on the device.

Its features are handled remotely, allowing for optimal convenience while kids retain their independence.

The company was founded in 2018 and has quickly grown to supplying thousands of safe mobile phone contracts to parents, for their children to use, per the press release.
