A professor at the University of Texas at Austin has developed a play therapy approach that she says could help millions of children around the world, the Austin American-Statesman reports.

Margaret Hindman, an assistant professor of counselor education, says her 75-minute virtual presentation "Overcome barriers to limit setting with children: ACT Limit Setting Model, a play therapy approach," was given to the Association for Creativity in Counseling Conference and the United Nations' World Creativity and Innovation Day Celebration in April.

According to a press release, Hindman's approach involves setting limits on what children can and can't do, and then having them work through those limits with a therapist.

She says her goal is to help as many children as possible "be their best selves," the Statesman reports.

Hindman's work has been published in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Health, and her presentation was chosen for the World Creativity and Innovation Day Celebration because it was "well received," according to the press release.
