That's why the health care giant is teaming up with Miami's Nicklaus Children's Health System to improve the experience for kids undergoing MRIs and ultrasounds.
The 10-year deal, announced Tuesday, will see Nicklaus become the first hospital in the US to adopt the "virtually free" Philips Ambition X MR, which uses artificial intelligence to eliminate the need for helium gas, and the CompactIQ CVx and EPIQ CVx ultrasounds, which use AI to "automated measurements and strain quantification to reduce time by 51%" and "help sonographers reduce exam time for 2D imaging by 20%," per the press release.
In addition, Nicklaus will adopt the Philips Scan Buddy app, which allows kids to play with a miniature MR scanner, learn about the procedure at home with educational videos and games, and reduce the need for sedation.
