A 10-year-old boy in South Carolina has a rare disease that causes muscle weakness, and now students at Stepinac Honors Academy are hoping to help him get back to playing video games.
They've developed a joystick for the boy, who suffers from congenital myopathy, Fox Carolina reports.
"I saw this as an opportunity to make a real difference in some kid's life," says James Lyons, one of the students who worked on the joystick.
"Provide some real change, help him play video games at home, which is something he previously wasn't able to do."
The students presented their invention to workers at Blythedale Children's Hospital, where the boy is being treated, on Monday.
