Foundation Engages Innovation Techniques on Low-Performing Pupils

A foundation in Nigeria is using board games and talking books to improve the education of children who attend government-owned schools.

Teach the Child Initiative founder Pearl Utuk, who spoke at a education summit in Abuja on Friday, said selected pupils were provided with extra classes using innovative tools like talking books and pens, as well as board games, the Guardian reports.

An education inspector with the Bwari Area Council, Abubakar Deshino, who commended the program, said there was tremendous improvement among benefiting pupils, as well as their teachers, charging the organizers to reach out to more schools within the council.
