In the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting, parents across the country have been stepping up their efforts to get their kids into better schools.
In Florida, for example, a group called Families for Education Reform has set up a website where parents can apply for grants to send their kids to private or religious schools, charter schools, or after-school programs, the Miami Herald reports.
In Indiana, parents can apply for a $5,000 grant to send their kids to a public school, according to InsideSources.com.
And in New York, parents can apply for up to $20,000 to send their kids to private or religious schools.
"It's a tidal wave of change," the executive director of Families for Education Reform tells the Herald.
"It's going to happen.
It's not going to happen overnight, but it's going to happen.
It's going to happen if we're serious about making sure our kids are prepared for the 21st century."
