Out of school children are a big problem in Pakistan, and the government is trying to do something about it.
The country's federal government has launched the Out of School Children (OOSC) National Challenge Fund, aimed at reducing drop-out rates and ensuring quality education for all children going age, the Nation reports.
"The real issue lies in the retention of these children due to inadequate learning environments, addressing the supply side drivers of OOSC crisis, the top most priority under this project," a member of the country's parliament said at the fund's launch ceremony, per the Nation.
Out of school children are kids who skip school because they can't afford it, or because their parents can't afford it.
The government says the fund will focus on early childhood education.
