When it comes to giving back to the community, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all about giving back.
To that end, he's called on businesses in the country to join his "Make in India" campaign, which aims to make the country's products and services more affordable for the underprivileged, the BBC reports.
"The story of India's CSR [corporate social responsibility] activity is one of dedication, innovation, and the unwavering commitment of diverse stakeholders to uplift the underprivileged and nurture sustainable growth," Modi said in a speech last week, per the Indian Express.
To that end, the Indian chamber of commerce has called on businesses to join the "Make in India" campaign, which aims to make products and services more affordable for the country's estimated 1.3 billion people, the BBC notes.
According to the Indian chamber of commerce, the Make in India campaign will focus on four areas: skill development, child care, affordable health care, and infrastructure support.
The prime minister's call for more businesses to join the campaign comes after a slew of high-profile failures, including Apple's decision to pull out of the Indian market, the New York Times reports.
