A 5-year-old Chinese boy is being called "China's Elon Musk" after he programmed a character to catch thieves, Quartz reports.

According to China's People's Daily Online, Junyi Zhang created the "Police Catching Thieves" character using Scratch, a programming language.

"He programmed statements using detection, variables, motion, and control," the company says in a statement.

"And completed the project by programming thieves and other characters."

It's not the first time a Chinese kid has created a character to catch thieves.

A 7-year-old created a character to catch a shark, and a 10-year-old created a character to catch a flying monkey.

But Junyi is the first to have programmed a character to catch thieves, Quartz reports.

According to China's People's Daily Online, Junyi's project was part of a promotional event for Walnut Coding, a company that teaches Scratch and other programming languages in China.

According to China's People's Daily Online, Walnut Coding has 7.2 million users and hopes to "bring new developmental science and technology development among children."
