Theresa Boulrice's "passion for working with youth in the library began as a circulation clerk at the Springfield Public Library," she says.
"I began creating and leading programs such as Comic Book Groups, Writing Groups, and even a Goosebumps Party."
Now the new children and young adult librarian at the Millbury Public Library in Massachusetts says she wants to "create an atmosphere of exploration and creativity for our community where innovation as well as literacy is supported."
That means offering STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) programs for all ages, particularly for tweens and teens, per a library press release.
"I will be offering STEAM and tech programs for all ages, particularly for our tweens and teens," says Boulrice, who started her new position in mid-March.
"I also would like to bring opportunities to our youth to teach them how to be entrepreneurs and voices in their community."
Boulrice says she was attracted to the job in Millbury for two reasons: First, the position was a "great opportunity for me," and second, the town's community was something else.
