If you've always wanted to be a digital citizen, now's your chance.
Publisher Capstone has partnered with the nonprofit International Society for Technology in Education to create a line of children's books that encourage readers to use technology in a positive way, reports eSchool News.
Sonia's Digital World, out in September, is the first in the "Young Innovators" series and follows a girl and her friends on a virtual trail as they make discoveries and connect with digital tools.
"Our collaboration gives educators an accessible way to start a positive dialogue around digital citizenship, creative use of technology, and our global connectionall knowledge kids need to help prepare them to navigate the digital landscape," says Beth Brezenoff, VP of Publishing at Capstone.
The International Society for Technology in Education works to "accelerate innovation in education through smart use of technology," per a press release.
"The support materials from rethinking that accompany the books will help teachers reinforce important topics like using technology create and problem solve well as what it means to be an empowered digital citizen," says Capstone CEO Richard Culatta.
