Karin Journo sent a final text to her family on the morning of July 18.
"To the whole family, I want to say that I love you a lot, because I am not coming home," the 24-year-old French-Israeli airport worker wrote, according to her father.
"Since that message, we have heard nothing.
We don't know if she is dead, if she is in Gaza," Doron Journo tells the AP.
"My daughter didn't go to war.
She just went to dance."
Journo was at the Tribe of Nova music festival in Gaza, where she'd bought a ticket just a week before Hamas militants turned the party into a killing ground, the AP reports.
A week before she was killed, Journo posted a selfie to Instagram showing her dancing in black shorts and a black halter top in a dusty field.
Video of the party shows her waving to the music and giving the thumbs-up sign, but she was rooted to the ground by a protective boot that covered her right foot and calf all the way up to her knee.
When Hamas launched an attack on the festival, Journo sheltered behind a car with a friend, looked around anxiously in another, and was seen sitting just outside an ambulance
