Kids in the Washington, DC, area can now get a taste of what it's like to drive a real car with a fake license plate.
The region's Departments of Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Administration for the District, Maryland, and Virginia have teamed up to launch a region-wide competition for children to show off their artistic skills by designing temporary license plates, the Washington Post reports.
"Some of the fake tags look pretty far-fetched anyway," says a DMV official, "but since drivers aren't getting pulled over or disincentivized in any way for using them, we thought why not let the kids have some fun with it?"GGWash got an early look at some of the entries.
"Nice work, kids! They look just as good as the real, fake thing," says a DMV official.
