The winner of the International Interior Design Association's (IIDA's) 2024 Student Design Competition is...
a kid.
Yi-Ti Zou of Taiwan's National Taiwan University of Science and Technology took home the top prize for his " Cognitive Training Clinic," designed to help kids with mood disorders, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The clinic, which features a large tree-shaped seat, bright colors, and wooden elements, is intended to feel like a forest playground, per a press release.
Second place went to Alex Pitchford of California State University, Long Beach, for his "Dawn Pediatrics," a treatment center for kids with behavioral health issues that includes clerestory windows for natural lighting.
The third-place prize went to Rahmanita Fairuz of Indonesia's Akasa Pediatric Clinic, which was designed "to inspire the feeling of going on a cosmic spaceship journey, the ultimate adventure from a child's perspective," per the press release.
