Those are the words of Justin Albright, the new Aerospace Learning Pathway lead at the Santa Clarita International Charter School in California.
The tuition-free public charter school's goal is to prepare students for "diverse and dynamic careers in the aerospace sector," Albright says in a press release.
Students will learn about flight and aircraft design, as well as "the challenges and technologies of space travel, engaging projects that foster innovation and a deeper understanding of the cosmos," according to the release.
"In learning about space, they will explore the challenges and technologies of space travel, engaging projects that foster innovation and a deeper understanding of the cosmos," Albright says.
"The best part about my role is that I am able to handcraft this program from the ground up," says Albright, who plans to start his MS in Space Systems Engineering at the University of New Mexico this fall.
"I previously worked at Virgin Galactic as a material handler, which gave me the opportunity to work on spaceships," he says.
