Zain is one of the fastest-growing telecom companies in the world, but it's also one of the worst when it comes to sustainability.
The Middle East's second-largest telecom company has released its 13th annual sustainability report, and it doesn't mince words: "Plastic pollution is a serious issue in the region and beyond," it says in a press release.
In fact, the company says in the report that in 2023, it reached 10.3 million people through its social media channels on topics such as climate change, water, waste management, and plastic pollution.

The company says in the report that in 2018 it released the world's first zero-carbon 5G network at the Red Sea resort Six Senses Southern Dunes, as well as the first Kaspersky Safe Kids app for children, all in an effort to "empower youth amidst regional challenges."
